Where the Dogs Led Me

My tiny design studio opened in 2002 with a simple goal, to do meaningful creative work while sitting next to my dogs. I wanted a space that wasn’t just dog-friendly, it was dog-first. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to work with businesses from all walks of life. But a funny thing happened along the way, many of my favorite clients had one big thing in common, they were dog people too.

Dogs have a special way of breaking down walls. They make it easier to strike up a conversation with someone you’ve never met. They give us common ground before we even speak. Whether the connection was professional or personal, dogs were often the bridge. That’s one of their many superpowers.

It’s because of this natural connection—and my own passion for the canine world—that I’ve decided to update my studio’s focus. MWH Design is now officially a Strategic Design Studio for Dog-Friendly Businesses.

What does that mean?

It means that if you’re a dog person running a business, there’s a good chance we’ll work well together. It means my focus will be on helping brands that serve dog lovers, sell dog-related products or services, or simply want to work with someone who shares their passion for pups. Whether you’re a trainer, breeder, gear maker, dog-friendly brewery, or an outdoor brand that welcomes muddy paws—I’m here for it.

And no, this doesn’t mean I won’t work with businesses outside the dog world. If you’re not in the pet industry but feel a connection to what I do, let’s talk. But going forward, MWH Design will put more intention and energy into supporting dog-centric businesses and the people who love them.
