Invest in your business, invest in design
Design is not an expense. When done strategically with the expertise of a professional, design delivers measurable results, aka ROI (Return on Investment).
Think of an expense as something like your power bill or insurance premiums. They’re necessary, but don’t directly contribute to growing your business. An investment, on the other hand, is carefully chosen to help your business thrive.
Take an auto mechanic’s tools, they make his job easier, faster, and more efficient — helping him earn more over time. Design works the same way for your business. The websites, logos, and branding I create for you are designed to connect you with more customers, build trust, and establish credibility in your industry.
Just like a mechanic doesn’t measure the ROI of his tools based on a single job, your return on design isn’t immediate — it’s about the long-term value. If investing $20,000 in tools enables the mechanic to earn $200,000 more during the lifetime of the tools, this was a very smart business choice. The same goes for design — done right, it’ll pay dividends for your business far beyond the initial investment.
Pricing design is not black and white. Every project has unique challenges demanding different amounts of time and strategy, a flat rate simply doesn’t fit. My goal is to first understand your objectives, determine if I’m the right fit, and then offer you a fair price designed to deliver ROI.
That said, many requests I get are common enough that I can provide starting price ranges. These give you a baseline to help plan your project budget. If what you see aligns with your expectations and you’re ready to take the next step, I’d love to hear about what you’re working on. Contact me.
Logo & Brand Identity Pricing
Budgeting for a logo alone starts at $1,600.
Budgeting to develop a full brand identity starts at $3,800.
Logo vs. Brand Identity
Yes, your business needs a logo—but I encourage my clients to think bigger than a single element.
A logo is a mark: a symbol or your business name written in a specific, intentional way. But a brand identity is much more than that. It’s a comprehensive system that defines how your business should look and feel across all touchpoints.
This includes your logo, of course, but also typography, color usage, photography and illustration styles, and more.
Where a logo is one element, a brand identity is the guideline for consistency—a framework that helps your business communicate clearly, memorably, and professionally.
Website Design & Development
Websites come in all sizes and flavors, and budgeting for one includes many variables—eCommerce functionality, forms, data structures, interactivity, search engine marketing, and more.
For small to mid-sized businesses not operating in the retail space, a good starting point for a custom website is a minimum initial investment of around $6,000 to $7,000.
Ongoing Maintenance
Websites require upkeep. Software updates, security measures, reliable backups, and web hosting all need to be in place to keep things running smoothly.
I offer bundled management services for clients who need ongoing support. Pricing is determined by the scope and complexity of your specific website.
Launch Is Just the Beginning
Think of your website launch as a starting point—not a finish line. A static website leads to a static audience. Successful websites are designed with content growth and expansion in mind.
It’s important to consider:
- Who will create new content?
- What type of content should I be creating?
- Should I be using paid ads, organic SEO, and social media?
- How often will content be added or updated?
- What’s the strategy for growth?
- How to I maintain consistency as things expand?
As a consultant, I can help you plan for this growth and guide your business toward long-term digital success.
Graphic Design – Books, Print, Packaging, and more…
Pricing for print design is typically more straightforward than web, since print projects often have a defined structure—such as a set number of pages or deliverables.
I price print projects based on the estimated time required and the purpose of the piece.
Usage matters. For example, if you’re marketing a luxury property or high-end product, the print design needs to reflect that same level of sophistication and detail. This type of work demands more time and attention to nuance.
On the other hand, a brochure for a once-a-year community event might require a simpler approach, and can be completed more quickly.
Ultimately, every print piece should serve its purpose effectively and look great doing it—and I’ll work with you to make sure that happens, within a fair and thoughtful budget.
